How I work
I came to psychology through community mental health, and I spent much of my career leading services for people whose lives had been shaped by anxiety, trauma, burnout and loss. That background still informs how I work. I am interested in what is actually going on for you, not just the label, and in what would make a practical difference in the week ahead.
Sessions with me are structured and collaborative. We will spend time understanding the pattern you are caught in, agree on what we are working towards, and use approaches with good evidence behind them, mainly cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and trauma-informed work. I will be direct with you, and I expect you to tell me when something is not landing.
I work with adults across Australia by telehealth. A lot of the people I see are managing a demanding job, a family, or both, and simply need help that fits around real life. I also have a particular interest in supporting first responders and people in high-pressure roles.
