Fees & Medicare
Clear fees. No surprises.
Therapy fees, assessment fees and how Medicare works, on one page. Therapy fees are also shown in the booking system before you confirm; assessment fees are quoted on request and agreed with you before anything begins.
Therapy appointments
Rebates depend on your eligibility, a valid referral and the applicable Medicare requirements. They apply to eligible therapy consultations, not to assessment packages, testing or report preparation.
Psychological assessments
The therapy rebate above does not apply to assessment packages, testing or report preparation. Any rebate that may apply to a specific assessment is clarified with you before booking. What assessments are offered.
Adult ADHD assessment package
The $890 standard ADHD assessment package includes two appointments and a written report. The standard therapy Medicare rebate does not apply to this package. If you have private health cover, check with your fund about any contribution before booking. How the ADHD assessment works.
Medicare benefit for a 50+ minute session with a registered psychologist (MBS items 80110 / 91170), current from 1 July 2026. Medicare rebates are indexed each July; the figure shown is reviewed when that happens.
Paying and claiming
Your session fee is $198. Where you are eligible, the practice can submit your Medicare claim after your appointment. Medicare pays the rebate into your nominated bank account.
For an eligible therapy session that leaves $96.45 out of pocket once the $101.55 rebate is paid. Assessment fees are separate — quoted on request and agreed in advance.
Medicare
How the rebate works
1. See your GP
Book a longer appointment with your GP and ask for a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Your GP will talk with you about what’s going on and, if a plan is appropriate, write a referral to a psychologist. You can name Cerenova or the psychologist you’ve chosen. Some GPs offer this by telehealth.
2. Send us the referral
Your GP can send the plan and referral directly to info@cerenova.com.au, or you can upload it when you book through Halaxy. We need it before your first rebated session.
3. Pay the session fee, receive the rebate
Your session fee is $198. Where you are eligible, the practice can submit your Medicare claim after your appointment. Medicare pays the rebate into your nominated bank account. The rebate is $101.55, leaving $96.45 per session. A plan covers up to 10 sessions per calendar year: an initial six, then a further four after a review with your GP. Cerenova does not bulk bill.
What Medicare doesn’t cover
Assessment packages, testing, report preparation, and therapy sessions without an eligible referral are not covered by the therapy rebate above. Leadership coaching is a separate service and is not rebated.
