How we help
Stress, burnout and work
Stress is part of life. Burnout is what happens when the demands keep outrunning your capacity to recover, until exhaustion, cynicism and a sense of ineffectiveness set in. People often arrive at this point having held things together for a long time.

Common reasons people seek help
- Feeling constantly depleted, with no real recovery on weekends or leave.
- Dreading work, or feeling detached from a job that used to mean something.
- Irritability, poor sleep and a short fuse at home.
- Pressure from a difficult workplace, a restructure, or a role that has outgrown its boundaries.
How psychological care may help
Working with a psychologist on stress and burnout is partly about recovery and partly about change. We look honestly at where the load is coming from, what is within your control, and what patterns, such as over-responsibility, perfectionism or difficulty saying no, keep you in the cycle. The aim is sustainable change rather than a short break before things return to how they were.
What therapy typically involves
Sessions combine practical strategies for restoring energy and sleep with deeper work on the beliefs and habits that drive overwork. Where a workplace issue is involved, we can also think through how to raise it, document it, or decide what you want to do next.
Is telehealth suitable?
Very much so. Many people managing burnout cannot easily add travel to a clinic on top of everything else. A session from your home or a quiet room at work is often the most realistic option.
Fees, Medicare and referrals
Sessions are $198 for 50+ minutes. Where you’re eligible, with a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a valid referral, Medicare rebates $101.55 per session for up to 10 sessions a year, leaving $96.45 out of pocket. The practice can submit the claim for you after your appointment.
You don’t need a referral to book. If you want to use Medicare, ask your GP for a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral; it can be arranged before or after your first session. Full fee and Medicare information.
