How we help
Life transitions, identity and meaning
Not everyone who sees a psychologist is in crisis. Some people come because something has shifted: a career ending, children leaving, a diagnosis, a loss, a relationship changing, or simply the sense that the life they built no longer fits. These are real and worthwhile things to work on.

Common reasons people seek help
- Adjusting to retirement, redundancy or a change of career.
- Grief and loss, including losses that others may not fully recognise.
- Questions of identity, purpose or direction, often in midlife.
- Feeling stuck, without a clear sense of what is wrong.
How psychological care may help
This work is reflective and practical in equal measure. A psychologist can help you make sense of what has changed, work through grief or ambivalence rather than around it, and clarify what you want the next chapter to be built on. Approaches such as acceptance and commitment therapy are well-suited to questions of values and meaning.
What therapy typically involves
Sessions are conversational, with structure where it helps. Some people come for a short, focused piece of work; others continue for longer as a new stage of life takes shape. There is no set program.
Is telehealth suitable?
Yes. This kind of work translates well to video sessions, and attending from home gives you space to reflect before and after.
Fees, Medicare and referrals
Sessions are $198 for 50+ minutes. Where you’re eligible, with a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a valid referral, Medicare rebates $101.55 per session for up to 10 sessions a year, leaving $96.45 out of pocket. The practice can submit the claim for you after your appointment.
You don’t need a referral to book. If you want to use Medicare, ask your GP for a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral; it can be arranged before or after your first session. Full fee and Medicare information.
