How we help
Men’s mental health
Plenty of men put off seeing a psychologist for years, then arrive wishing they had come sooner. You do not need the right words for what is going on, and you do not need to be in crisis. Something not working the way you want it to is reason enough.

Common reasons men get in touch
- Irritability or anger that is affecting relationships.
- Feeling flat, numb or disconnected without an obvious reason.
- Work stress, pressure to provide, or a career that has lost its meaning.
- Relationship breakdown, separation or co-parenting difficulties.
- Drinking or other habits that have crept up.
What to expect
Liam has long experience in this area, including with men in high-pressure roles. Sessions are direct and practical: understand what is driving the problem, agree on what to work on, and get on with it. There is no requirement to talk about your childhood unless it is relevant, and no judgement about having waited.
Is telehealth suitable?
For many men, attending by video from a car, a shed or a quiet office is what makes therapy possible at all. Sessions are confidential within the usual limits.
Fees, Medicare and referrals
Sessions are $198 for 50+ minutes. Where you’re eligible, with a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a valid referral, Medicare rebates $101.55 per session for up to 10 sessions a year, leaving $96.45 out of pocket. The practice can submit the claim for you after your appointment.
You don’t need a referral to book. If you want to use Medicare, ask your GP for a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral; it can be arranged before or after your first session. Full fee and Medicare information.
